Pranam. I would like to thank all the members of JainList who contributed by providing their feedback on the issues mentioned in the last issue of Gazette. Reply by E.L. Velasquez deserves special mention here. Suggestion is on the third point viz. "Moderators for different 'Types' of JainList members", that is to split JainList into separate sub-lists for different types of segments i.e. Scholars, Novices, Non-Indians, Students etc. Moderator Shri Hitesh Mehta has also suggested this. I would like to clarify what I meant by - Moderators for different "Types" of members. The plan was to designate one moderator for each segment of members within JainList. That way, for example, the moderator of "Student" segment takes care of the interests (queries) of all the students who have taken up Jainism as one of their subjects. It doesn't mean that no other moderator or JainList member can reply to the students but just that it now becomes the primary responsibility of the moderator in-charge to mind the Student community in JainList. I had no intention of splitting JainList into smaller sub-lists. Because I think that would diminish community strength and result in fragmentation. Until the time comes when there is enough mass in a segment to deserve separate lists (which I think is years away) it does not make much sense to do so now. But if anyone has reasons to think contrary please let me know your thoughts. We are open to constructive input and ideas enhancing the JainList experience. Jai Jinendra. That which is Dharma, is tranquilness. What is this tranquilness? The psychic state of the soul free from attraction and revulsion is tranquilness.
