GazetteJainNet GazetteThis is a fortnightly newsletter for the Jain community having the latest news and happenings, announcements and appeals, a calendar of important tithis and occasions, featured post from JainList and introduction to new members. It is in some ways complementary to the discussion group JainList. JainList is focused on discussions related to Learning about Jainism. Therefore casual coffee-table talk, news, appeals and announcements of websites, resources etc. are not allowed. But this kind of information, especially news, events and announcements are important too. Another issue that needed to be resolved was requests for general information by users. There was a need for something that would deliver the news and announcements as well take care of requests for information by users. But individual mails covering these topics would clog mailboxes and dilute JainList's focus. This is from where the idea of Jain Gazette took shape. Jain Gazette's focus is to be a newsletter and that of JainList is being a discussion group for learning Jainism. The greater source of News in Jain Gazette will be Users. News mostly be contributed by subscribers of Jain Gazette, and also from other conventional resources like newspapers. Therefore please send authentic news, events, announcements and appeals from your area to be published in Jain Gazette. Due credit will be given to the source and provider of News.
